Kurt Chapman
August 3rd, 2008OK, so now my Facebook email is filling up with spurious warning about “Kurt Chapman” who is about to eat my email, or hack my account, something.
OK. Don’t take it from me - Google it. Like here:

Folks, listen.
Whenever - that means every time - anyone tells you to “tell all your friends this immediately“, it is a hoax.
Never forward that stuff to anyone, especailly not me. I do not need to know thatyour friend heard it from Microsoft himself, or that the guys at Google have just discovered this, or that Sergeant Ricco Smith of the regional Police are warning all women that if they do not listen, they will end up hiding for hours in a shopping mall toilet completely naked.
All these emails are hoaxes. This is no longer 1978 - this is 2008. Enough already.
Now tell all your friends never to forward these hoaxes again.

I agree with you about the internet spam. As a matter of principle I check every claim/accusation I receive electronically and reply to the forwarder with the information about the hoax. Then I ask them to verify their facts before forwarding this rubbish to me. This is just electronic gossip, isn’t it?
