Libya

In 1981, I did maintenance work on Esso Tripoli telephone system. In later years, I was in charge of large PBX network installations in Marsa el Brega, Ras Lanuf, and in the desert.

In Libya, I learned to work independently, under difficult circumstances. Learned good negotiating techniques. I completed all projects successfully, and gained customer acceptance for all networks.

The photo shows me in the (beautiful!) desert, between Waha and Marsa el Brega. Sunny skies always make me happy. Many Libyans are the reverse: they describe cloudy skies as "good weather".

I actually like Libya: great weather, beautiful deserts, and very hospitable people. Yes, there are many difficult things, but Libya is beautiful. I would love to go back sometime.
