Malaysia

In July 1997, I hosted KL Group booth in the Software Development Asia '97 trade show in Kuala Lumpur.

I like Malaysia: warm, tropical, lots of interesting shopping especially in Chinatown, and a remarkable mix of Malay Mulsims, Indian Hindus, and Chinese and English, and all get on well together. Instead of fighting, they proudly show off each other's traditions and share each other's holidays. Also, in Malaysia you get friendly people, good service and like in much of Asia, there is no tipping.

It was obvious that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammad (who was mentioned daily with full title on almost every page of every newspaper) ran a tight operation.
