Nigeria

In 1982 I worked on the Shell telephone network in Lagos. In 1983, I was in charge of installing four new exchanges in Warri and Port Harcourt. I spent almost five months in Nigeria.

Warri, Nigeria I needed all my improvisation skills: facilities were primitive and communications in those days hard to establish. Completed all exchanges on time.

The photo: Near Warri. Nigeria is beautiful, but very unsafe. Bodies are frequently seen on the roads and streets. Leaving in one piece was always a relief.

I have been criticised by people browsing the web for saying the above. But I stand by my words. The Nigerian people are kind, warmhearted and have a great sense of humour, but from personal observation, nigeria was very unsafe.
